Volunteer: Jewish Celebrations- new and nonvetted only

Jewish Celebrations

Are you a retired teacher, social worker, or have any experience with groups? Or maybe you share a strong passion for  Jewish education and Jewish holidays? Please consider joining us for a NEW volunteer experience bringing Jewish celebrations to older adults in facilities who otherwise don’t have access to it. This would be a 1-year commitment of approximately 2 hours per month. Each volunteer would facilitate a one-hour universally themed program focused on holiday celebrations and topics of Jewish cultural and historical interest such as:

Volunteers will be assigned to one assisted living facility or other apartment complex in South Jersey. The curriculum is being created by Rabbi Nathan Weiner and Reva Farenback-Brateman, JFCS Geriatric Social Worker. Training may be held quarterly. Days and times at each facility are flexible based on your schedule. Some facilities do not allow minors, so we will match you with an appropriate facility based on your preferences. Interested volunteers must be fully vetted by our agency. Additional vetting may be necessary depending on the facility.

Jewish Celebrations

Are you a retired teacher, social worker, or have any experience with groups? Or maybe you share a strong passion for  Jewish education and Jewish holidays? Please consider joining us for a NEW volunteer experience bringing Jewish celebrations to older adults in facilities who otherwise don’t have access to it. This would be a 1-year commitment of approximately 2 hours per month.
