Disability Services Department: The goal of this program is to develop programs and services in support of individuals with special needs and their families, so that they can lead more independent and fulfilled lives as citizens of our community. Volunteers can help in help in several ways.

Soups & Sweets Food Service Training Program: Soups & Sweets is a food service training program designed to provide young adults with disabilities an opportunity to gain culinary skills.  Volunteers can assist in the kitchen, cafe, marketplace, and catering. Shifts available Mondays through Wednesdays.  Shift times vary. 

Soups & Sweets Catering:  Shifts available Thursdays and Fridays.  Shift times vary.

SOAR offers fun social and recreational activities for adults who require more support in a group setting. SOAR events are led by a professional staff member, along with numerous volunteers who have been trained to work with adults with developmental disabilities. The staffing ratio for all events is approximately 1:3, ensuring that each participant gets the attention they need to fully enjoy the activity. Activities are held monthly, generally on Sunday afternoons.

Supports to Achieve Independent Living (SAIL): High school and college students (18+ only, no minors may participate) can provide peer interactions for young adults with special needs at social events, including cultural events, informal get-togethers, life-long learning classes, community service projects and participation in Special Olympics. Social Outings and Recreation (SOAR) Facilitators: High school and college students (all ages) can interact on weekends with those individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, who need greater oversight than those in the SAIL program.
