Volunteer: Bite-Size Community Wide Service ProjectsPerhaps you’d just like to designate one special day a year when you and your loved ones can volunteer together as a family. Or maybe you are a student who would like to do a community service project with your class. We have wonderful opportunities for all ages. One way to do this is by offering your professional expertise (legal, financial, etc.) and conducting no-cost individual consultations to help JFCS clients navigate legal issues or better manage their money. You may also opt to hold your own food drive for our Betsy and Peter Fischer Food Pantries. Similarly, you can hold a gift drive during a holiday season, collect personal care items for our domestic violence clients, or come up with your own special way to make a difference! Once you become a fan of Bite-Size community wide service projects, you will be notified throughout the year as registration for our events open. Events include: Community Mitzvah Day Holiday meal deliveries including Rosh Hashanah, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Purim, Shavuot, and more! Volunteers provide additional office support to our Director of Volunteers, our Volunteer Project Coordinator, and other staff by helping with mailings, administrative tasks and other office projects. The vetting process includes fulfilling all qualifications such as a background check, references, waivers, and more.
