Sherri Jonas- Senior Director of Special Projects and Volunteers
Sherri is a CPA, MBA, who joined JFCS in 2017 and brings more than 25 years of business experience. She is one of our compliance officers responsible for grant data analysis, performance quality improvement, strategic planning updates, overseeing the accreditation process, and many other special projects. In addition to her compliance work and streamlining processes at JFCS, she oversees the Volunteer department.
Lisa Freedman Enda- Volunteer Manager
Lisa began as our Volunteer Manager in January 2025, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the volunteer department. Lisa brings a unique perspective to this role, having served as both a JFCS Board Member and as a long-time volunteer with our agency. Lisa's entire professional career has been dedicated to working at non-profits in various capacities, and she enjoys her new role with JFCS. Lisa shares that her position is both rewarding and a privilege to "help people help people."
Wendy Hernberg- Volunteer Transportation Coordinator
Wendy started as a volunteer and joined our team in November of 2018. Her background in accounting and meticulous attention to details coupled with her empathy and dedication has made her an invaluable asset to the team. She coordinates both the Volunteer Medical transportation, and our veteran Take the Wheel transportation programs. She is our staff liaison to the greater veteran community. She also works part-time for the Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Program to help with intake calls. She loves working with our clients and noted that she learns something new each week from their wisdom.
Jennifer "Jen" Gerstein - Volunteer Onboarding Specialist
We are thrilled to welcome Jen as our new Volunteer Onboarding Specialist. Starting in June 2026, Jen will be coordinating all administration related to the onboarding of new volunteers, including responding to initial inquiries and the vetting of new volunteers. Jen has great wisdom and perspective, drawing from her experience as both a long-time dedicated JFCS volunteer and as a former JFCS Board Member (most recently serving as Vice President). Please contact Jen if you are a new volunteer interested in any of our opportunities. 
Miranda Mason - Volunteer Program Coordinator
Miranda joined our team in November 2023, working as our Volunteer Program Coordinator. Miranda will continue to coordinate weekly volunteer activities and provide administrative support for all volunteer programs and events. Please reach out to Miranda with questions about our volunteer events, holiday meal delivery scheduling, and adding your volunteer hours or any issues with using Galaxy Digital.
