Raise the Bar is a nonprofit organization in Camden, NJ that supports families of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Jewish Community Foundation will be hosting two week-long camps this summer and we are helping recruit volunteers: one for Kids Club (campers ages 3-11) and one for Social Squad (campers ages 12-22). Whether you can volunteer for the whole week or just one day, your presence makes a huge difference!
Social Squad Camp (campers ages 12-22)
When: July 14–18 | 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
-Field trips will be off-site on Wednesday and Thursday
Location: Raise the Bar Office – 808 Market St. in Camden (includes 2 exciting field trips)
Volunteers can expect to: Help young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build social and life skills in a fun, supportive environment. Volunteers are paired one-on-one or with small groups to assist with activities like arts & crafts, music, games, and community walks to places like Rutgers or the local Nuanced Café. You’ll provide encouragement, help campers stay engaged, and create a welcoming space for everyone.
Requirements:
All volunteers must be at least 18 years old for Social Squad camp
Volunteers ages 18+ will require a background check
Each volunteer will need to attend a one-hour virtual training
